Karl Stevens

Karl Stevens is an award-winning painter and comic strip artist based in Boston. His work has been featured in The New Yorker, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, The Believer, plus the late Boston Phoenix and The Village Voice amongst other publications.

Room 68 is highlighting a selection of original artwork from Karl Stevens' sixth graphic novel Penny: A Graphic Memoir. This 152 page graphic novel features the philosophical and existential musings of a cat named Penny.

Told through a collection of stories, Penny: A Graphic Memoir wanders through her colorful imagination as she recalls her humble beginnings on the streets of New York and waxes poetic about the realities of her sheltered life living in an apartment with her owners.
